The garden was given a wonderful canvas surrounding the family home (The Old Rectory built in 1815) and is set beneath the imposing church ruin and graveyard at St. Matthew's in Templebreedy, extending to the adjoining woods (“Cruchán”) and overlooking Cork inner harbour and Crosshaven village.

With many beautiful old trees already in place and many new specimen trees added, this two acre garden has been developed significantly since 1995. It features a variety of garden rooms (which include woodland areas, a formal box garden, small walled garden crammed full of herbaceous perennials, and much more) offering colour throughout the year, but particularly beautiful from spring into autumn.

Offers lots to a plant enthusiast with time for a slow appreciative walk. For the owners the rooms offer their family and friends plenty of scope for different areas of pleasure and quiet time.  Probably best described as a gardener's garden that makes every visitor an enthusiast.

Groups can visit the gardens in Crosshaven by appointment from May to July. Photo and film shoots by appointment all year round.

The Templebreedy Gardens were featured: in the SKY programme “Show me your Garden” in 2015, featuring English, Irish & Scottish private gardens; It is also featured in Ireland's County Cork gardens in Shirley Lanigan’s “Open Gardens of Ireland” in 2017.
